A few months ago I heard of on-line radio stations — where you could pick your own music.  This sounded wonderful, as I didn’t really care for any of the stations I could pick up.  I did a search, and found Pandora Radio

It was not exactly what I had in mind.  I did not get to program in all of my favorite songs to listen to, day after day.  Instead, I could set up ‘stations’ with based on groups, songs or a combination.  They play a variety of music that is similar in style to what has been chosen.

As the listener, you get to edit the music as it plays.  If you like a song, mark it, and it will be played more often.  If you don’t like a song, you can mark that also, and it will not be played anymore on your station.  But, what if you normally like the song, but are not in the mood for it right now?  There is a skip button.  Due to being a ‘radio station’, they are under certain laws, and can only play a song so often; therefore, there is no back button.

When I first signed up, I was not sure I was going to like it.  It was not what I had in mind; but the longer I listened, the more I enjoyed it.

The songs I didn’t like were weeded out and new music introduced.  Much of the new music, I had never heard before, but have greatly enjoyed.  Here is a sampling:

Studies suggest that there were.  Read more…

Many strange things have I found in baby’s diaper lately…

  • Crayons

Have you ever wondered if there is an alternitive to dry active yeast, besides sour dough?  Are you curiouse as to how a home maker obtained yeast before it was readily avalible on the market?  I was, and I found some answers…

At first I was skeptical.  Aren’t hops for beer?  Yes, and no.  They also make a wonderful fresh yeast that keeps well and makes lovely bread.
